Description:

Help us help you. Please bring in or mail your DMV Renewals to one of our two Franklin County Motor Vehicle offices. When the local office processes your registration or driver's license renewal, the County keeps 12.7% of the fee. This goes directly to the County's general fund which helps to reduce your County Tax Levy. 

This can be accomplished in several ways: 

  • In person at the Malone and Saranac Lake Offices
  • Send someone in with your completed renewal & fee
  • By mail at the addresses listed below

Malone Office Hours

                      MONDAY - FRIDAY  8:00AM-3:45PM (closed Legal Holidays including Black Friday)

CDL Written Tests can be taken between 8:00 am ~ 2:00 pm
Permit Tests and Enhanced Licenses can be taken between 8:00 am ~ 3:00 pm 


Saranac Lake Hours

***Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9am - 2pm***

The Saranac Lake office is located at the Harrietstown Town Hall. CDL written tests hours are 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.; permit tests can be taken from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., enhanced licenses 9 am – 1 pm.
